Socialite Uju Murphy, mother of three tells us the secrets of her beauty and how she pampers herself to look good.
How would you describe your style?
Strictly all mine and no one else. I wear what makes me comfortable and flatters my body shape.
What is the best beauty advice that you have ever received and from who and where?
I would say the best beauty advice was from my mother when we were kids. She never went to bed with her makeup and I always wondered why, I felt it would be easier to just sleep with it and not have to reapply the next day. However, as I grew older, she explained that there’s no greater crime against your face than going to bed with your makeup on as that was a sure way of inviting acne, early wrinkles and under eye shadows and bags. When we sleep bare face, it allows the skin breathe and rejuvenate. I must cleanse, tone and moisturize my face morning and night.
What do you do to keep in such good shape?
Three things basically. I try to drink lots of water, cut down on the garbs and do at least a 30 minute walk around my estate every day.
What do you do to pamper yourself?
Take a very long hot bath, wear something loose fitting and just relax with a very lovely book. If I feel like, I will invite my masseur over to the house to throw in a very intensive and relaxing massage session into the mix.
What won’t you be caught dead wearing?
That would be micro mini and bum shorts.
What’s your fashion fetish?
Bags and shoes. I guess perfumes too, I have quite a collection.
Would you ever consider plastic surgery?
Definitely, as I get older and the bits and pieces get weak.
