Versatile female live band group, Xcellentos, soaring amidst male-dominated sector

Today is world’s International Women’s Day, IWD. And in the mood of the day, I will be showcasing a woman who is striving relentlessly in a male dominated sector of live band.

Beautiful, sexy, versatile, hardworking and talented singer, Rachel Ogunyemi, leader of De Xcellentos Band has perfected her plans to make the best out of 2021.

With her three singles; ‘Inspirational dance medley’, ‘Ololufemi’, and ‘Praise jazz medley’ already having massive hits, Osu, Osun state born lead vocalist who started her music career professionally in 2004 with a music teenage group known as the fountain singers, has raised her game of recent.

Rachel, a graduate of Theatre Arts and Music and her Xcellentos live band plays all genres of music ranging from RandB to Hip Hop, Oldskool, Rock, Reggae, Jazz, Fuji, Alujo, Apala, Folk music, Highlife, Indigenous and many more.

She graduated from the Lagos State University (LASU) where she studied Theatre Arts and Music (Bsc) in the year 2018

Thriving in a male dominated sector, daring and talented Rachel and De Xcellentos band tops the female leading bands in Nigeria.

Always being refered to as the only versatile female that can switch from any genre to another easily and professionally, Xcellentos band has played so many top notch events both herein Nigeria and also outside the country. They were at the Oasis hall London, Love of Christ Church at Clapham United Kingdom, Ilford East London, Escape Lounge, Essex, London to perform.

The band were also the darling of all guests at wedding of Ondo State Governor, Akeredolu son’s wedding at Landmark, Oniru Lagos, where all the shakers and makers of Nigeria were present.
They were also at Prince Aderemi Sijuwade and Labisi Folawiyo’s wedding at Balmoral Event Center, Federal Palace, Hotel, Lagos.
De Xcellentos band also graced Senator Olamilekan Yayi Adeola’s new year party and many other breath taking events in and outside the country.
