In a video that has gone viral, Alton Sterling (37), was shot by two Baton Rouge police officers, Blaine Salamoni and Howie Lake, in Louisiana, USA on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, after responding to an anonymous tip that at a man in a red shirt who was selling CDs had pointed a gun at someone at a convenience store.
Sterling who matched the description died of multiple gunshot wounds to the back and chest. At the time of his death, Sterling had five children.
