When MTN Roadshow berthed in Yola

Following the public announcement of the sale of 575 million MTN shares to Nigerians, the multinational organisation has been embarking on a nationwide roadshow to several cities in Nigeria to publicize its offers and woo Nigerians into becoming partners in the MTN franchise in Nigeria.

Tuesday, the 7th of December 2021, was a special day for the people of Adamawa State as the Lelewal Hotel was agog in MTN colours as the Roadshow hits Yola, pulling together the crema de la creme of MTN partnership in the Northeast region of Nigeria, to the Adamawa State capital.

The event which was attended by MTN partners, wholesalers, retailers, distributors and customers was a special session meant to familiarise the public with offers made at the public sales of MTN shares.

Speaking at the occasion, MTN’s Chief Technical Officer, Mohammed Rufai, explained to the public that the shares were available at N169 per share and that Nigerians can log into the network’s website to obtain their shares.

Also present at the event was MTN’s trade partner and Managing Director, Crystal Global Resources, Anthony Okojie. He described the public offer as an amazing opportunity that Nigerians should take advantage of. Okojie said, “I think it is an amazing opportunity because MTN has been here for over 20 years and they have continued to dominate the space. We have been doing business with MTN for over 10 years. We have seen it consistently growing in both its coverage and the kind of services it offers, both in airtime and data. So, the opportunity has continued to be broadened and they have continued to do well despite the challenging business environment in Nigeria. Today, they have been able to give us a forecast of what we should expect in 2025 which is an amazing foresight, and this is a place for sensible smart investment. These kinds of offers and opportunities are rare, and I think in the next few months these shares are going to be hard to come by. My advice to Nigerians, is that this is a good offer especially from a very stable company that understands Nigeria and has dominated the market.

Okojie further expressed his confidence in the company’s integrity, saying, “I know there are different brands and different companies even among the networks, but I want to assure you that from my experience with MTN, they are “fidel”. What I mean by fidel is that, they go the extra mile to ensure they deliver on their promises, so we should not be afraid because it is a brand that has continued to grow stronger and stronger and they are already bidding for a 5G network and planning to go into financial services, which means they are strengthening their business for future profitability.”

Pedeino Matthias, a public servant, spoke happily about the offer. Describing it as “exciting because Nigerians have been clamouring for it for a very long time.

“This is an exciting opportunity that MTN is bringing to Nigerians, I believe that it is a timely one too. Nigerians have been clamouring for this for far too long, so it is an opportunity that we are glad that it has finally arrived,” Matthias said.
