Lanko (Adeola Shoremi) is a popular Yoruba actor whose marriage to fellow actress, Madam No Network crashed months ago. In this exclusive chat with ENCOMIUM Weekly, he opened up on why he remarried and reasons for his crashed marriage.
Congratulations on your wedding. How does it feel now that you are married again?
Thank you very much. It feels great. It’s difficult these days to find a wife who wants the best out of you. In fact, it is really great being in love again. I have been in love in time past, but I never felt anything like this. So, I can boldly say I’m married to the love of my life.
How did your path and that of your lucky woman cross?
Wonderful. We met at the airport in America during one of my tours of the United States for a show.
How did you propose to her?
Immediately we met at the airport, we exchanged numbers. Then, we were talking on phone. As we were talking constantly, I knew I have met my choice. So, we formalized it and I proposed to her and wedded her last week.
What really attracted you to her?
She is what any man will want in a woman. She has the qualities other women desire to possess. She is a godly woman, industrious, good looking and her carriage as well is enticing. She carries herself elegantly.
You were once married to Iya No Network, is your marriage with her still intact?
Yes, my marriage with Iya No Network is still very much intact.
What was her reaction when you told her you were taking a second wife?
What will be your reaction if your husband brings a woman as a second wife? Definitely, you are not going to be happy about it. As a woman, she reacted negatively but as a head of the house, I sat her down and told her my reasons for taking a new wife and she agreed with me.
We heard that your former wife has moved on and ready to remarry?
I don’t like washing my dirty linen outside. The question is personal to me. So, no comment on that. You wait and see what happens next.
Is it true that your new wife was the cause of your break up with Iya No Network?
I have told you that Iya No Network is still my wife. She has children for me. She’s a very nice woman and a great mother of my children. Nothing like break up and nobody caused anything. All of us are in peace with each other
It was alleged that you are not taking adequate care of your children?
This is funny. Anyway, why would they tell such a big lie about my integrity. It is my sole responsibility to take good care of my children and my family at large. My children can testify to this anytime anywhere. If I may ask, are my children complaining of being not taken care of? In fact, all of them were with me throughout my wedding and we all had a nice time together.
Tell us about your wife, her name, what she does and where she is from?
Her name is Folashade Shoremi. She is from Ekiti (laugh) but now Abeokuta by marriage. She has a boutique and at the same time a traveller. She’s caring, lovely and respectful.
Career wise, what are you working on presently?
I just finished producing a movie, Ebola, which came on Monday, September 29, 2014. Ebola is a comedy film that explains and interprets what Ebola is all about. I’m using this medium to tell my fans to get their copies as soon as the film comes out.

You should be expecting people like Madam Saje, Ebun Oloyede, Wale Akorede, Ibrahim Chatta, Lizzy Anjorin, Iya Niwen, Okele, Adeola Shoremi (Lanko Omo Oba Dubai) and many more.
You are one of the talented actors making good comedy movies, where is the inspiration coming from?
My inspiration has been from God Almighty.
Can you recall the movie that brought you into limelight?
The movie that shot me into limelight was Agbokolere.
Who is Lanko Omo Oba Dubai?
My real name is Chief Adeola Shoremi. I’m from Abeokuta, Ogun State, the Amuludun of Mushin Land, the anointed comedian of the movie industry.
