Ebola: Family of victim reach settlement with Dallas hospital

The attorney for the family of the only Ebola patient to die on United States of American soil has revealed that the Dallas hospital he was treated will pay his relatives an undisclosed sum and create a foundation in his name.

Duncan, who arrived in Texas from Liberia on September 20, was initially sent away from the hospital’s emergency room with antibiotics, something Presbyterian administrators have acknowledged was a mistake. He returned to the hospital in an ambulance two days after his release and was quickly diagnosed with possible signs of the virus.

“We have wrapped this up,” said Les Weisbrod, who represented Mr Duncan’s family. “The size and details of the settlement are confidential.”
