Hawkers and buyers to pay N90,000 fine in Lagos from today

The governor of the good people of Lagos, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, has reminded Lagosians that the Street Trading Law is still in force, and those who contravene it are liable to pay N90,000 fine or spend six months in prison. And the penalty affects both sellers and buyers.

The news of the implementation beginning in full force today ( Friday, July 1) has been widespread, and Lagosians are broadcasting it on social media.

The Lagos State Governor this morning announced that the laws on Street Trading in Lagos State will be strictly enforced from today, July 1, 2016. Both Seller and Buyer are equally guilty and the penalty is #90,000 or 6 months imprisonment or both.
