‘How Banky W Discovered Me’ – Shaydee

Seyi Folarin Adeboye, otherwise known as Shaydee was born in Kano State but grew up in Lagos. The graduate of Electrical Engineering from the University of Ilorin also told us his story…

What were you doing before signing to EME Records?

I have been doing music for a long time. I was actually signed to another label, which I can’t tell you the name. I left when the label decided to dabble into fashion. I walked to EME and they liked what they heard. That’s how it all started.  I have a couple of songs. I did something with Wizkid back in 2009.

How did Banky W discover you?

It was at a show in Ilorin, Kwara State. Banky W was there when I did my thing and he liked it. Since then, we have been talking before it finally materialised. I am standing here today as a member of EME family.

How does it feel belonging to one of the most illustrious labels in Africa?

It feels great because a lot of people are looking for this kind of opportunity. I am here show the world what I can offer

What do you think you have that made Banky W consider you for EME?

Basically, I can’t really say but I just did my own thing and he appreciated it. In EME, we all have our individual strength but I am unique in my own way. My fans, home and abroad should expect a lot from me.
