‘The children gave full backing’
Billionaire business man, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu has taken a new wife, exactly two years after the death of his first wife. The man of means’ new interest is known as Frances Chinonyerem Enwerem, a 22 year old, who is identified as a daughter of a traditional ruler.
Chief Iwuanyanwu and Frances Chinonyerem tied the knots on Saturday, September 14, 2013, in a traditional setup in Owerri, Imo State.
What is, however, labeled as a subject of controversy is that children of the mogul are not too pleased with their father’s latest move. They describe the union as not too pleasant because of the wide age difference between the two. Story around town indicates that the children are not in support of Chief Iwuanyanwu’s move.
But when we spoke to one of his daughters, Mrs. Nwadiuto Iheakanwa, who is the Managing Director of Champion newspapers, she labeled the disapproval tale as false on Friday, September 20, 2013.
“We are not against our father’s new marriage. It’s not true that we the children kicked against it. He has made his choice, we wish him well in his new marriage. Papa is an old man. We should not give him stress. We want our father to have a long life and enjoy himself. The lady herself consented to it. We spoke to her and she said she loves Papa. We wish them good luck. The children are happy for them”.
Mrs. Nwadiuto Iheakanwa also confirmed to ENCOMIUM Weekly that Chief Iwuanyanwu and Mrs. Frances Iwanyanwu were joined in matrimony on Saturday, September 21, 2013, in Owerri, Imo State, at the Anglican Communion Church, Ikeduru Diocese, Owerri. According to reports, Reverend Emmanuel Maduwuike was in charge of the nuptials.
Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, who recently celebrated 72nd lost his wife of over 40 years, Mrs. Eudora Iwuanyanwu in August 2011. Both of them had three sons and five daughters.
The new wife is said to be a regular face at the Iwuanyanwu’s Owerri family home. She was just a visitor nobody suspected would eventually settle down with the billionaire businessman. Her mother is described as late Mrs. Eudora Iwuanyanwu’s friend and as it is she is carrying chief’s baby.
Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu is considered one of Nigeria’s richest men. His major cash cows include construction and publishing. At the moment, the wealthy businessman boasts of over 20 companies scattered across Nigeria.
