‘We started Nollywood with our blood’-TECO BENSON
What is your take as Nollywood celebrates?
The celebration started last year but due to some hiccups, it dovetailed into this year. I think it is a worthy event. Today is basically to give us some pat at the back, having come this far. That is over 20 years, from nothing to a desired destination.
We have made a remarkable achievement to the extent that the world has recognized this industry as the second largest in the world. Inasmuch as there are many complaints, we still deserve commendation. We deserve to be celebrated because we start from a private-sector driven industry, where individuals used their blood to establish the sector. I believe it is also a period of sober reflection, a period of planning, so that we tell ourselves what and what we can do in 20 years.
