Encomium.ng reporter who was at the magistrate court where Seun Egbeegbe was arraigned for theft of 9 iPhone handsets today ( Thursday, November 24) described the movie marketer and socialite as sober but worried.
Standing trial for theft before magistrate Mrs. Y.O Aje-Afunwa, the controversial film maker and estranged lover of Nollywood star actress Toyin Aimakhu was looking far neater and fresher.
Dressed in traditional black and white Ankara baba and sokoto, Seun Egbeegbe didn’t spend up to ten years in the dock as he pleaded not guilty. He was granted bail, with two sureties who have N2 million in their account and property in Ikeja area of Lagos.
Many observers are still in shock as they discussed in low tones about the ordeal of the marketer.
Seun Egbeegbe was accused of stealing 9 iPhone handsets in Computer Village ( Ikeja, Lagos) valued at over N2 million in the morning of Tuesday, November 22. He was was apprehended by a mob who gave him a bloodied mouth. His defence of trying to fetch the money for the phones in his vehicle didn’t find favour.
Policemen from Area F Command later arrived to whisk him away. He was detained for two days until his arraignment today.
