A Nottingham-born 21-year-old man has become the first person in Britain to be jailed for ‘revenge porn’ after he posted a naked picture of his ex-girlfriend on online messaging platform, WhatsApp.
Luke King was earlier today (Friday, November 14) jailed for 12 weeks at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates Court after he admitted to posting an explicit image of the woman (not named for legal reasons).
Revenge porn is the online distribution of a person’s sexually explicit media without the individual’s consent, typically by a former partner or hacker, and often with the intent to humiliate the subject and damage his/her reputation.
