24 year-old Queen of Aso, Esther Kanu dies of cardiac arrest

Former Queen of Aso, Esther Kanu passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2015. The 24 year old former beauty queen was crowned the Queen of Aso in 2012 and in 2013, the Abia born model represented her state in the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria beauty contest but lost to 18 year old Anna Ebiere-Banner.

However, efforts to speak to the family proved abortive but the Queen of Aso beauty pageant DG, Desmond Agboola, during a brief interview with ENCOMIUM Weekly, opened up on how she died, her unfulfilled dreams and many more…

What really killed her?

One cannot really tell what killed her but I was told they have heart problem running in their family. On Wednesday morning, January 7, 2014, Esther was said to be in the kitchen when she suddenly slumped and was rushed immediately by her boyfriend to Garki General Hospital. She however died before they got to the hospital. After much examination , they got to the hospital, the doctor said she died of cardiac arrest.

What was her position in the family?

Esther was the second and the last child in the family.

What was the reaction of the parents?

The news came as a shock to the family because no one ever expected it. However, her only brother would be getting married this weekend in Lagos. They were very sad when they heard she was no more.

Was she into any relationship?

Yes, she was in relationship for four years.

How does he feel and what did he say when he heard about it?

Words cannot describe how he is feeling at the moment coupled with the fact that, he was the one who rushed her to the hospital when she slumped and was later detained at the police station for two days before he was set free. He is in a bad shape. He is an Abuja up and coming artiste called Emperor Effizy.

Can you recollect some of her last moments?

I really cannot say what her last moments were because I was not with her but all I can say is that she was a funny and loving girl.  She also loved and enjoyed events mostly within the Abuja territory and outside Abuja. Her last major outing was on Friday, December 26, 2014, at Comedy Assembly in Abuja.

Did she have any unfulfilled dreams?

She was planning to expand her salon and also to launch her NGO.

Is her brother’s wedding still going to hold?

Yes.
