Are lavish weddings responsible for divorce?

Four experts have categorically stated that lavish weddings actually jeopardize marriage!

And listed that the more money spent on the ceremony, the riskier the survival of the wedlock.
In an exhaustive study by Andrew Francis and Hugo Mialon, both professors in Economics department of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States of America, they concluded: “The more you spend on engagement ring and wedding ceremony, the shorter the marriage.”
The study released in 2014 sampled more than 3,000 couples younger than 60 in heterosexual relationships.
And the risk of divorce was directly linked to how expensive the rings and nuptials are. And those who chose cheap rings and modest ceremonies, lived happily ever after together.
Another expert in family law, Amanda McAlister of Slater and Gordon chambers in the United Kingdom, spoke about her long years in marital troubles and concluded that “8 in 10 couples who divorce within 5 years cite high wedding costs.”
A United Kingdom High Court Judge, Sir Paul Coleridge, with more than 30 years experience in family law, agreed with the summation that flamboyant weddings fast track divorce.
He stated: “The more we spend on weddings, the greater the rate of family breakdown.”
More studies and keen observations support these exports’ conclusion…
