Legendary comedian, Bill Cosby’s lawyer, yesterday (Sunday, November 16), said his client will not respond to “decade-old, discredited” sexual allegations leveled against him.
The much-loved American entertainer has been at the centre of a storm since comedian, Hannibal Buress branded him a “rapist” during a stand-up show last month. This came on the heels of claims that Cosby, most famous for playing the patriarch of a middle-class, African-American family in the long-running sitcom “The Cosby Show”, had assaulted a string of women over the years.
In a statement, Cosby’s lawyer, John P. Schmitt, said: “The fact that [the allegations] are being repeated does not make them true. Mr. Cosby does not intend to dignify these allegations with any comment. There will be no further statement from Mr. Cosby or any of his representatives”.
