Dayo Adeneye ‘rigged out’ of Ogun APC Assembly primary… ‘Votes were merely allocated’ – sources allege

The All Progressives Congress’ House of Assembly primary for Odogbolu constituency (Ogun), on Tuesday, December 2,2014, never took place, according to insiders. Votes were merely allocated to favour the candidate of the party’s leaders.

Those close to Dayo Adeneye who lost to Adebowale Ojuri, a special assistant to Governor Ibikunle Amosun, alleged that the primary conducted at Odogbolu Town Hall with 400 delegates was neither free nor fair.

“The winner was decided at a nocturnal  meeting on the eve of the primary by party leaders”, an insider maintained.”Votes were allocated there, and what happened at the primary was merely a sham. We are unhappy about the development, about imposition of candidates.”

The APC House of Assembly election for Odogbolu constituency paraded 9 candidates – and Ojuri was declared winner with 280 votes to Adeneye’s 70.

Efforts to speak to D1, as the broadcaster is popularly addressed, were unsuccessful. But we learnt he has vowed to remain a loyal party man, in spite of the disappointment.
