Debbie’s burial fund drops to $8,145 from $8,977

1-debbie gofundme-001Deborah Osarere Idiagbonya, 31, died after battling cancer for about five years, on Friday, April 1, 2016, at The Howard University Teaching Hospital, Washington DC, USA, where she was receiving treatment for Lung and skull cancer. She is set to be buried on Saturday, April 30, 2016.

Her body was to be laid to rest on the 15th and 16th of April 2016, but the burial was postponed due to insufficient funds and appointment as the as funeral and cemetery charges cost about $30,000 and they were not able to raise the money.

A gofundme page was created to help raise funds to make sure Debbie gets a befitting burial but they were not able to raise even half of the needed funds so the burial was postponed till Friday, April 29, 2016 with the hope that they would have been able to raise all of the money by then.

The donated funds on the gofundme page has reduced rather than increase, because at 10:00am on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, $8,977 has been raised by 170 people in 9days on the gofund me page. And today, Monday, April 18, 2016, the donated funds reduced to $8,145.

Encomium.ng investigated and found out that it is possible for funds donated to reduce on gofundme because it monitors all donations made on the site, and they always take down donations made from suspected fradulent accounts or credit cards and we suspect this might be the same in this case.
