Ebola victims’ funerals

The remains of the late Dr. Stella Ameyo Adadevoh who was infected with Ebola after treating Patrick Sawyerr, the Liberian who brought the disease to Nigeria will be buried on Friday, September 12, 2014, as announced by her family.
The burial will be preceded by a memorial service at Holy Cross Cathedral, opposite City Hall, Lagos, by 10am. The burial is coming after family have obtained the ashes of the late doctor, as the corpse was decontaminated and cremated by the Lagos State Government.
Also, a Night of Tributes has been slated for Thursday, September 11, 2014, by 6pm at Harbour Point Event Center, Lagos.
The family said they decided to perform the dust to dust rite so that “in the future people will not be taunting her son that his late mother has no grave.” The burial is going to be a family affair.
In the same vein, the remains of the late Dr. Iyke Enemuo, who died of the Ebola virus, have been buried in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, according to the requirement of the World Health Organisation. The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Sampson Parker, explained that Enemuo was buried on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, alongside the old woman that shared the same hospital ward with him.
