FEYI SODIPO VS MISS NIGERIA ORGANISERS: CAR TRANSFERED TO LAGOS POLICE COMMAND

‘We have not seen any car’ – Organisers, Beauty Queen threaten court action

There seems to be no end to the feud between 2011 winner of Miss Nigeria, Feyi Sodipo and the pageant organisers, Daily Times. The two parties have been at loggerheads for some time now over the organizers’ attempt to withdraw the car Feyi won at the pageant in 2011.

As it is now, the said car, a Hyundai Accent with registration number GGE 354 AJ, is now in Police custody. The car was transferred to Lagos Police Command Office from Eleweran Police headquarters, Ogun State, and the beauty queen feared she may have lost the battle to possess the car. According to Feyi Sodipo who spoke with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Saturday, September 7, 2013, “The car has been taken to Lagos Police Command and I fear the organisers of Miss Nigeria may take over the car but I won’t let it go like that. I am taking them to court. Like I said, I have informed my lawyer to take it up. I won’t allow them take the car like that. If not for the other car Ogun state governor gave me how do I move around? It is now very clear to me that they wanted the car I won because of the one Ogun governor gave me and it is not in our agreement I surrender the car I won whenever anybody gave me a car. It is not. After all, my predecessor, Damilola Agbajor still has her car, why me? My mom is so upset about the whole drama, just as I am.”

On her next move, Feyi told us she has decided to travel abroad to further her education, ” I have decided to travel abroad to further my education hopefully, this year. I am not going on Miss Nigeria scholarship since the oganisers have told me it is no longer available. So I have decided to take my destiny in my hands.”

ENCOMIUM Weekly also reached out to the pageant organisers through Miss Nigeria Project Coordinator, Konnie Nwachukwu, and this is what she told us, “As far as I am concerned, I have not seen any car in our office. Feyi Sodipo’s reign is over, we are concentrating on the new queen, Akudo Ezinne. I can’t tell you anything pertaining to Feyi. Our management didn’t produce her, it was Nike Oshinowo’s event company that is responsible for her emergence as Miss Nigeria. So, you can contact her (Oshinowo)”.

Weeks back, news went to town about the attempt by Miss Nigeria organisers to withdraw the car won by Feyi Sodipo as Miss Nigeria in 2011. The two parties have been on the issue for a long time before the involvement of the police.
