‘To undergo second surgery soon’ – MANAGEMENTS
Nollywood star, Halima Abubakar is, surely, not enjoying good health at the moment. And critical to the extent that she is still at an undisclosed location in Lagos state where she’s being taken care of, courtesy of her close friend and colleague, Tonto Dikeh.
According to an industry source, the multiple award winning actress cum film maker is seriously down now. Speaking further, the source disclosed, “Halima Abubakar is not enjoying the best of moments. And the reason is not farfetched. I learnt the fibroid removal she went for in India a couple of months back wasn’t successful as the ailment relapsed about two months after returning to Nigeria. Now, I learnt she has to go for a corrective surgery for her to be well again. She is very ill at the moment. That’s why her friend, Tonto Dikeh decided to keep her away from the public until she gets better. I pray for her to get well soon just like almost all of us in the industry are doing now. We can’t afford to lose Halima. She is too good to be missed now. I wish her soonest recovery.”
All Encomium Weekly’s efforts to reach out to the Kogi born entertainer proved abortive as all the calls put through to her mobile phone were not picked. We equally sent her a text which was also not replied.
However, out of Encomium Weekly’s curiosity to know the truth about the situation, we still called the ailing thespian on Thursday, July 27, 2017 but our call was picked by a member of Team Halima who only volunteered to speak with us in confidence, saying, “Although, Halima has not been feeling fine, I can assure you she is recuperating well. There’s no cause for any panic. She will be alright soon by God’s grace.”
Asked to divulge the actual state of her health at the moment, the source said, “That I can’t really comment on. But all I can tell you is that Halima will be back on her feet soon. She is recuperating where she is now. She needs some rest.”
On the tale that she is likely to undergo second surgery for her to stay alive, the source reacted, “Yes, there is likelihood of that. And very soon, it will be sorted out. I think she has been advised on that.”
Meanwhile, days back, the hospital picture of Abubakar was posted by her friend, Tonto Dikeh soliciting prayers from all well meaning Nigerians, colleagues and teaming fans of the A-list theatre practitioner and author. The pathetic photograph had since been generating worries, confusions and serious tension within and outside the industry as it portrayed the brilliant role interpreter as a mere shadow of her real self.
