A 23 year old man, Jason Garnett, had had his penis injected 24 times as part of efforts to make his 17-hour erection go down.
The erection started on Friday morning when he woke up after sleeping with a friend. He tried various methods, including jogging and an ice bath before he was taken to hospital by his housemate.
Doctors first tried to slow blood flow by injecting his penis 24 times but when it didn’t work, had to remove two pints of blood from his penis.
Speaking to UK tabloid, The Sun, he said: “Ending up in hospital with a permanent erection was probably the most embarrassing day of my life. Seeing them stab my penis with a needle was a horrible experience – like something out of a horror film. The pain was 10 out of 10.”
