‘Marriage is challenging, but I’m happy I’m with my friend’ -Foluke Daramola

Popular busty Yoruba actress, Foluke Daramola-Salako has disclosed her plans and love for activism in a chat with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Friday, January 23, 2014 and more.

How was 2014 for you?

It was good and challenging. It was full of ups and downs.

folukeDo you believe in New Year resolutions?

No and yes.

Why?

Because there is no time you can’t set your plans. I set my plans quarterly, analyze them and strive for the best.

What is your plan for 2015?

My plan for the year is to work more on my activism because I am an activist and to work on my NGO. Also to make progress and be the best in my career because I have been in the industry for over 20 years now.

How often do you receive scripts?

I receive scripts often, but I set my priorities right.

It has been a while you acted, why?

I still act and still receive scripts but this is election period, I have to participate as an activist. I still have four scripts, but I set my priorities right.

Are you into politics?

Yes.

What are you working on currently aside acting?

I am working on the official launch of my NGO which is Passion Against Rape in Africa.

How will you describe your marriage so far?

It has been very nice, interesting. There is no marriage that doesn’t have its ups and downs but the most important thing is I am married to my friend.

What is your view concerning the Yoruba movie genre?

It’s changing because the most constant thing is change. The industry is going to be better with true professionals but the fact is the non-professionals in the industry will fail because they don’t have what it takes.

Most of them joined the industry because of fame. The industry is not just for anyhow persons.

How do you balance parenting with your busy schedule?

It has not been easy at all, but I try to give my family quality time, most especially my kids in order to discover their potentials. For instance, my boy loves football and my daughter loves literature.

What influences your style?

My mood and what I am comfortable with. For instance, I can put on a top and jeans, sometimes iro and buba.

What are your beauty tips?

I wash my face regularly in the morning and night and you will always find me with honey, which I use for my face. I dress well, exercise more, most especially when I discover I am putting on weight. I also drink lot of water and sleep well.

Who are your role models?

I love people that are distinguished. People like Joke Silva, Shola Sobowale and Oprah Winfrey. They are level-headed and they balance their homes and career properly.

Also, Anita Baker because she has been able to balance her home and career well.

What should your fans be expecting from you?

They should expect the best. I will be launching a movie soon. An English movie that will be a blockbuster and also a traditional Yoruba movie which I won’t disclose its title now because it hasn’t been approved.
