Newly-weds spend wedding night behind bars

This newly-wed couple never envisioned spending their wedding night in police cells but that was the case after the furious groom launched a foul-mouthed tirade at stunned staff at a four-star hotel in Manchester, England.

25-year-old Nicholas Bigland and wife – Kirsty (30) – both spent their first night as a married couple in separate cells following their arrest at the Hilton Hotel in upmarket Deansgate in Manchester.

The newlyweds tried to check in for the evening, but were told their credit card had been refused; this sparked a row with Mr. Bigland swearing at the receptionist and other members of staff. During prosecution, Mr Bigland admitted to section five public order offence, his new wife, however, denied charges of racially aggravated assault, harassment and a public order offence.
