The Gbongan, Osun State born clergy in an exclusive chat with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Thursday, July 25, 2013, debunked the rumour that he was caught in a romantic posture with up and coming gospel singer, Ifemide.  He explained that the scenario was not as speculated and that the lady in question is his spiritual daughter.

“I am amazed about the speculation that I am dating Ifemide or caught in a compromising manner with her.  First, she is a young girl I am nurturing as a role model and a member.  She is my spiritual daughter.  On the said day, we just finished ministration in church and she was in a hurry to go out for a performance.  It was in the church and a handful of members were around. I called her back and said it’s not good for her to sing with such an untidy hair.  I was walking back to my office which is close to the auditorium. She was in a hurry to go back and I held her back and touched her hair saying it’s not ideal for a young artiste under my ministry to go for a performance with an unkempt hair.  She was glad and overjoyed that a well known clergy could care about her ministration and I guess with youthful exuberance she snapped it with her camera phone and posted it on her Facebook wall.  But mischievous people now went about claiming we were having an affair and caught in a compromising manner. It’s the work of mischief makers.

It is no longer news that the father-daughter relationship between popular female gospel singer, Tope Alabi and her spiritual father, Prophet Ajanaku of Christ Victory Chapel International, Ayobo, Lagos has gone sour over irreconcilable differences.

The 13 year-old relationship ended during the 2012 crossover night of December 31, 2012, when Prophet Ajanaku pronounced an unknown singer, Ifemide as Tope Alabi’s replacement.  It was reported that Prophet Ajanaku picked the microphone during the service and announced the young female singer who was attending the church for the first time. He told her to kneel down and informed the congregation that a new baby has just been born.  He allegedly told Ifemide to carry on with his full backing and the anointing of the Holy Spirit.  That was the beginning of a robust father-daughter relationship between Prophet Ajanaku and Ifemide, who is now the apple of his eye.

He is married to Mrs. Joy Ajanaku and their marriage is blessed with two wonderful children.
