‘I’m sorry if I Embarrassed Nigerians,’ pleads Beverly Osu

How will you describe your experience on Big Brother Africa?

My experience was awesome though challenging but we scaled through.

Do you feel cheated?

We were not cheated.  West Africa was very united in the house.  Who won deserved to win, we are all winners.  We made it to the finals.  I broke the record as the first housemate that was not on eviction list.  That was also an achievement.

How real were you in the house and why did you expose a lot of things about yourself and your family?

I am a very outspoken person.  For me to reveal myself to the world, it wouldn’t look like I was revealing myself.  It was a reality show.  I don’t regret what I said about me and my family because if I have to be on this platform, people have to know the real me and what I have been through.  I was very real. I am the outspoken one and it reflected in my conversation in the house.

Do you think you made Nigeria proud?  A lot of people believe you embarrassed us while in the house?

I made Nigeria proud, out of the multitude that were auditioned, I was chosen to represent Nigeria.  In the sense of what Nigerians saw, first, I cannot take my bath with clothes on, all of us had our bath naked.  I shouldn’t be different because I am on a reality show. I should not be judged.  I represented Nigeria well.  I don’t feel happy about the fact that Nigerians said I embarrassed them because this is the first time I will be representing Nigeria.  If you don’t go for Big Brother Africa, you wouldn’t know how it is in the house. I am sorry if I embarrassed Nigerians, I didn’t do it intentionally.  I am a proud Nigerian.

Your sex tape is all over the net, can you tell us what really happened?

I will say I did not have sex in the house.  I had a relationship with Angelo but we did not have sex.

What will two adults be doing in a bath tub naked?  How best can you interpret it?

I don’t have the right words to interpret it.  The only thing I can say is we did not have sex.  I am telling you what I know.  I don’t know how television showed it to you, I was behind the camera.

How does your mom feel about your actions in Big Brother Africa?

My mom nurtured me properly, even if the whole world rejects me, my mother will not reject me.  I love her so much. I am her only daughter and her last child.  I have always been there for her and she has always been there for me.  I will not want to disappoint her intentionally. I cannot.

Tell us about your relationship with Angelo, will you take it a step further?

You don’t plan to like somebody.  Friendship is not asked for, it is earned.  I and Angelo are good friends.  I and Angelo talk every day, that is all I can say.

Why will you go that far with him in the first place?

I was taking my bath, we were taking our bath.  It was an awkward moment but we didn’t do anything.

Are you aware he has a girlfriend?

The girl you know is his ex before he got into the house.  I am not putting myself in the position to determine if I am his girlfriend or not.  We will see how it goes.

How long can Beverly stay without sex?

I can stay a whole lifetime without sex.

If you are given the opportunity to go back to Big Brother house, would you take it again?

That house is a mental challenge for now. I cannot go back to the house tomorrow. I am still trying to adapt to the new environment.

What next for Beverly?

Before going for Big Brother Africa, I was into entertainment. I had a show, Beverly Says.  I will go back to my show and start pushing it. If you watch Big Brother Africa, you will realize that I can act.  So, I will explore that aspect as well.  I am also going back to school.

Which school are you in?

National Open University, I am in 200 level studying Mass Communication.  I deferred the session to go for Big Brother Africa.
