‘It’s misleading’
Contrary to social media report, popular comic actor, Alhaji Olaniyi Afonja, better addressed as Sanyeri has denied being attacked by armed robbers shortly after formalizing his marriage to mother of his two children, Hawawu Omolara. We added that it’s not only untrue but laughable.
He further described the publication as misleading and misinforming. He, however, stated that the person robbed is his friend and colleague, Tijani Adekola, aka Kamilu Compo.
Speaking with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Saturday, December 21, 2013, the Oyo born film maker expressed discomfort about the report, calling on his teeming fans and general public to disregard it totally. He also labelled those sponsoring it as lazy rumour mongers.
“That’s a white lie. It’s even laughable. May be they are mistaking me for my friend, Tijani Adekola, who was the one robbed on my wedding day. Not me at all. Concerning Kamilu Compo, everything is over now. We thank God, he is alive. Myself and my wife are also okay. Nothing happened to me. It’s misleading.
Those behind that kind of useless and sensitive rumour are alarmists, and they are very lazy. I think they’re supposed to have done their investigations very well before peddling lit.”
On Sunday, December 1, 2013, the brilliant role interpreter walked down the aisle with the mother of his children, Hawawu Omolara after 10 years as live-in-lovers. The event which held at Anchor Event Centre, Lateef Jakande Road, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos, was well attended, especially by his professional colleagues.
