K! Denies Shooting Undergraduate, Police Insist on Intrerrogation

Goldmyne Entertainment CEO and owner of Limelite Hotel & Suites, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State, Otunba Sesan Rufai has cleared the air on the alleged shooting of a student of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Kofoworola Azeez by a staffer of Alhaji Wasiu Anifowose, better addressed as K1 De Ultimate at the K1 De Ultimate and Olamide Badoo Live @ Limelite, held at Llmelite Hotel & Suites, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State on Saturday, October 10, 2015. He described the report by social media and few dailies as not only untrue but malicious.

Speaking with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Saturday, October 17, the media and entertainment personality who was the organizer of the show expressed total dismay about the publication. He further described it as part of sponsored agenda of some disgruntled elements to malign his image for only God knows why.

“My brother, nothing like that happened at the show. I believe it’s just the handiwork of enemies of progress. I think there are some people out there beefing us for reasons best known to them. Maybe they were surprised to see I could organize that kind of fantastic show. They didn’t expect it.

“And as a matter of fact, we had a good turnout. It was an event of who is who in Ago Iwoye and beyond. A lot of dignitaries were in attendance. We had the Ebumawe of Ago Iwoye, Ogun State government representative and many others. It’s a very classy event.

“The show was well packaged. There was heavy presence of policemen and other security operatives. So, there was no way such a thing could happen in that kind of atmosphere. The event was well organized.

“We even danced till around 7am. K1, Oritsefemi, May D, DJ Jimmy Jatt and others performed and it was covered by more than 20 media outfits, including HipTV, Silverbird Television, Nigizie, Orisun, City People, Soundcity and others.

So, I was shocked when I heard the news. But I think, it’s just an unnecessary beef. The problem of those sponsoring the publication is that they didn’t expect I could stage a show of that magnitude in Ago Iwoye. To them, who is Sesan Rufai. Not knowing it’s not by me but God.”

Asked if K1 was truly summoned by Ogun State Police Command on the issue as reported by one of the dailies, he reacted, “There was nothing like that at all. It’s unnecessary propaganda. And to the best of my knowledge, no such case was ever reported. So, it’s all baseless and malicious.’

ENCOMIUM Weekly’s efforts to get K1’s reaction were abortive as all the calls we put through to his mobile line were not picked. We also sent him a text on Sunday, October 18, 2015, all to no avail.

However, he was reported to have reacted on the allegation, claiming no such incident happened at the show.

“I wish to state that no such incident happened throughout the few hours we stayed in the community. At least, to the best of my knowledge, such never happened. There was good presence of security personnel of both the police and soldiers at the venue which obviously reinforces the fact that there wouldn’t have been any act of thuggery or harassment at the event.”

Meanwhile, ENCOMIUM Weekly reached out to Ogun State Police Command’s spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, on Monday, October 19, 2015, and he insisted that K1 was invited for interrogation.

“Yes, he was invited for interrogation but he’s away in London, according to his lawyer. It’s believed he will report when he returns to Nigeria. But if he fails to report, we will know what to do.”
