Weeks after wife’s delivery – Pastor Taiwo Odukoya opens up on premature baby tale

CONTRARY to speculations making the rounds in Christendom and beyond, preacher of the Word, Pastor Daniel Taiwo Odukoya, has explained issues surrounding his wife’s early delivery on Friday, August 27, 2010.

Addressing the issue in the last anointing service at the headquarters of the church in Ilupeju, Lagos, on Friday, September 10, 2010, as well as the church’s Sunday service, the humble minister took time to explain to his congregation the circumstances that led to the untimely birth of his new baby.

He said, “I was in England when my wife’s emergency call came.  She insisted the doctor wanted to see me. I flew to Johannesburg, South Africa immediately.  When I got there, the doctor insisted they had to take the baby out.  I was wondering and asking God why August, why this time?

“I battled God severally, but we had no choice than to yield to the doctor’s advice.  Two days after I got there, they brought the baby out, but God helped us.  The baby is doing very well.  God has disgraced those counting days for us.  I can remember that God instructed me to sow for four children, which I did.  Thank God I yielded to His instruction.  The boy is doing very well.

“It was an emergency but God helped us out.”

Meanwhile, rumour mongers have refused to leave the pastor alone, alleging his South African wife (Rosemary Simangele) took in before their wedding on Tuesday, January 5, 2010, as their marriage has not yet clocked nine months.  This, he has clarified, reassuring his congregation of his eternal commitment and faithfulness to God.

It would be recalled that Pastor Rosemary Odukoya put to bed a baby boy on Friday, August 27, 2010 in far away Johannesburg, South Africa, seven months after she walked down the aisle with her heartthrob, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya.  The baby was christened Haniel Oluwatimilehin Odukoya, eight days after in South Africa.  Pastor Rosemary and her son, Timilehin, are still in Johannesburg, South Africa and will be back to Nigeria before the year ends.

But the patriarch of the family is already with us, to set the records straight and also attend to his ministry.  Hitherto married to late Pastor Bimbo Odukoya, the man’s first marriage was blessed with three children: Tobi, Jimi and Tolu.
