The truth about P-Square’s purported reconciliation

The events and lashes surrounding Psquare’s break up and their reunion is very dramatic. On July 13, 2016, the social media went eerie after Peter Okoye charged at his twin and partner, Paul Okoye for deciding to perform alone at the ‘VIP Show’ which held in Goma, Congo. Peter called it a dead end of the group ‘Psquare’ and disassociated himself from everything related to the music brand ‘Psquare’.

Tuesday, July 26, 2016, is exactly 13 days after the break up announcement, with Peter sharing a video on his instagram page apologizing to fans and every stake holder who is disappointed by the duo’s misdeeds.

Accompanying his 1-minute video was this note: “My dear fans, P-Square is back. Ours is a journey that started from our mother’s womb. It was a journey that started from Primary School, continued to St. Murumba College, to when we were in University in Abuja. It was a journey in which we shared childhood memories and grown-up dreams. We are back because brothers do not let each other wander in the dark alone. We are back because we have tried the lonely road and it was not the same.

“I want to take responsibility for what has happened and sincerely apologize to you our fans. For supporting us throughout this journey we owed you so much more than what you have had to endure and I apologize for that. We are embarking now on a new journey with exciting new management (Jude Okoye), new music and new ideas.

“We cannot thank you enough for all your prayers and support throughout this difficult period. Maya Angelou once said that brotherhood is a condition that people have to work at. We will continue to work on that and you can be prepared to be blown away by this new phase of P-Square.”

Though Jude Okoye (the twin’s elder brother) and Paul Okoye are said to have forgiven Peter and thrown their hands wide to welcome him back home, the truth about this purported reconciliation cannot be proven yet not, maybe, until the trio make public their reunion by new music release and event performances, this may be just another publicity stunt.
